Game Artwork: Complex Tileset

I’ve been spending a lot of time making artwork for games lately. Since I’m a developer I understand that sometimes it’s very difficult to find artwork for games which is immediately usable. Personally, I was frequently frustrated when I found free tilesets which didn’t come with any instructions attached. As a total beginner I wasn’t able to use these assets right away and wasted lots of time getting things going. So, without further ado I’d like to share a tileset I’ve created. This tileset is meant to reflect the inside of an industrial complex.

Each image is 25×25 pixels set on a transparent background. I’ve included a tilesheet ready to use and an example stage. I hope this is helpful and check back again in the future as I may add more tiles.

Update! I’ve continued to work on the tileset and thought I’d share the changes. I’ve enlarged the tiles to 50×50 and changed the way the walls are represented. Now, the walls are part of the ceilings tiles instead of the floor tiles — this means it’s easier to build your game’s collisions detection since everything is either blocked or not. Anyway, here they are with another example level (this time a real one from my game Forte).
