BattleSweeper is Go

I want to direct your attention to a new game and a new game studio! My friend and co-worker Raphael Mun has been working hard with a group of game ninjas to produce BattleSweeper for the Xbox 360 marketplace. At the same time the team have announced the creation of Studio Guinea Pig to showcase their latest work and focus on upcoming projects. Raphael is also the author of the popular sin(Surfing) so get excited! Check out the trailer after the fold:

Unfortunately the video seems to have been taken down!

BattleSweeper is yet another indie game hitting the Xbox Live Marketplace and serves as one more sign that indie gaming has hit mass appeal. I’m especially impressed by Studio Guinea Pig’s ability to breath new life into an old classic, and their ability to really polish the game to a shine! Here’s what they say about the game:

> You’ve been practicing by yourself for years… The time has come for you to > show your friends how good you really are! Play BattleSweeper now… WITH > FRIENDS! Play 4 exciting multiplayer modes that take the game to a whole new > level, along with classic solo mode fun!

The game currently goes for 400 gamer points and sports 1-4 players, let me know if you snag a copy and what your gamertag is and we can duke it out!

I loved playing minesweeper as a kid. I remember we would race on who gets the lowest time in each skill level, and we’d bet who’d win with quarters and whatnot. Haha, sounds lame I know. But it would be interesting to see how it is integrated into the multiplayer environment.
