Can I Get Your Opinion?

Hey everyone, I’d like your thoughts about a possible art-style for another word game I’ve been thinking about. Basically I’d like to hear whether you think it’s aesthetically appealing, whether you’d click and try the game based on this look, and anything else you care to share. Check it out and let me know what you think!

Prototype Artwork

This movie requires Flash Player 9

Here are some things I’d like feedback on:

  1. Do you think it looks good?
  2. Do you think it looks fun?
  3. Do you think it looks too childish?
  4. Would you play the game based on this artwork?

At first I see the word "big," but then it looks like the middle letter is actually an "n." It looks fun, but I would recommend reducing the amount of colors going back and forth. It can still flash a little bit, but just not as much. And keep the outline for the "G" in the same place. I think it would still look fun, but not as childish.
  • LOVE it. Could be pretty sweet as a style!
  • IMHO

    1. it looks good
    2. yes
    3. yes,
    4. why not?
  • I think it's pretty important to have a distinctive style in order to make a game stand out, especially today with so many other games out there.

I haven't really seen this style in games before, so I think it's good that it would stand out. It could be pretty fun looking and stylish. I'm kind of torn on if that sort of motion would be distracting. Like others said, it would be nice to see it in action, like a mockup of the game itself with the sorts of textures and motions.

    Looking forward to seeing more!

I like the overall look, but the flashing could get distracting if overused throughout the game. It has a somewhat childish feel, but I think that can be OK. I think it definitely looks *different* from other games, which is nice.

Would there also be animation? (ie. would the the bug's legs be moving?) The flickering/flashing effect is a nice way to make it look dynamic without having to add real animation.

I do think it looks childish, but I'd examine it further because it does look fun. I'm no art critic, though.

I feel like I'm missing out on a grand "bigger picture". Something like seeing only the game's title created with torn paper, but not seeing the full game (And Yet It Moves, if the title was made of torn paper). I think it would be pretty awesome to see a screen filled with the same crayon graphics as the image above.
